On the weekend of 21 and 22 November, one corner of Queen Victoria Market turns Latin American. Cachivaches Latin Market brings more than 50 Latin-owned businesses to the market's C-D Sheds, at the Peel Street end, with food, drinks, art and music.
Entry is free and you do not need to book.
The basics
- When: Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026, 9am to 4pm both days.
- Where: C-D Sheds (Peel Street end), Queen Victoria Market, Queen St, Melbourne.
- Cost: free.
- Who: all ages. Families and kids are welcome.
- Access: step-free throughout, pram and wheelchair friendly.
- Weather: the full route is undercover, so rain will not cancel your plans.
The market suggests allowing two to three hours. That sounds right if you plan to eat more than once, and you should.
What you will find
According to the market and the City of Melbourne listing, the stalls cover Colombian, Brazilian, Mexican, Argentinian, Venezuelan and other regional food. Expect street food, BBQ, pastries, desserts, specialty coffee, tropical drinks and handcrafted products, plus food trucks and live music.
It is a good chance to try businesses you have only seen on Instagram, and to meet the people behind them. Many small Latin food brands in Melbourne sell online or from home kitchens, so markets like this are one of the few times you can try everything in one place.
A simple plan: go early on Saturday for coffee and something sweet, walk the full route once before buying, then come back for a proper lunch.
